What is XpressLab?
Thank you for your interest in XpressLab.
XpressLab is an innovative technology conceived and developed by Dr. Janet Flewelling, a career language teacher. Her collaboration with teachers at the elementary, secondary and post secondary levels in Canada, United States and Europe has contributed to the development of easy-to-use, Internet-based software tools that enable teachers to create highly interactive, multimedia lessons, activities and tests that engage and motivate students.
XpressLab has been designed to target the development of oral communication skills - the foundation of literacy (Canadian Language and Literacy Research Network, 2010). XpressLab can be used in any subject area and at any grade level. XpressLab is used extenssively by second and foreign language teachers, ESL teachers and teachers in all subject areas as a tool for differentiating instruction and assessment in order to recognize the varying learning style preferences and needs of students and to simply get students excited about learning!
In addition to providing teachers with tools for creating customized resources to meet their curriculum needs, XpressLab supports the teaching community by providing an integrated library for the sharing of resources. XpressLab resources can be easily published for reuse to a personal library space, a space for sharing among teacher colleagues within an institution or organization and for sharing with all teachers using XpressLab.
Our mission is to provide teachers with effective software tools that support teachers in their efforts to help students succeed.
